XRP Makes Historic Debut on CME Exchange as Whale Activity Sparks Rally Speculation
XRP has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first U.S.-regulated altcoin, following Bitcoin and Ethereum, to be listed on the CME derivatives platform. The cash-settled contracts, available in sizes of 2,500 and 50,000 XRP, are priced using a daily reference rate. This development highlights Ripple’s expanding institutional presence, with ETF Store President Nate Geraci predicting that spot XRP ETFs are inevitable.
CME executive Tim McCourt recently praised XRP’s "really strong" use case, reinforcing its market potential. The listing coincides with a surge in whale activity, leading to speculation that XRP’s current rally may only be in its initial phase.
